Memories and Incidents from the SAF......

Anyone has stories or memories to share??
I start off first. It was our COC Parade for my DivComd. I was given a TOP to delegate the parking and sitting arrangements for the visiting guests.
Anyway, there was this LTC who got out of his car and started to make noise to the ushers. I went up to him and asked whats wrong. Wah he shouted at me why his parking space so far. And he wants to park nearer to the Parade Square. I told him cannot as those are reserved. He kpkb so much.
Hey, who know who I am? I am bla bla bla, he said. I said, Sir, there are over 20 over Col's and Generals coming to grace this event. Not to mention guests from the various ministries as well. I am sorry, base on the TOP, your rank is nowhere near them. I said this nicely of cos. He turned and walked away.
Then as he climbed the stairs, he slipped from a step and felled.
I was trying my very best trying not to laugh. Hahaha. In my mind, I was like serve you right for scolding me. But when I helped him up, he turned to me, reached out his hand and apologized to me over what happen earlier on. I was immediately touched.
Maybe the fall brought him back to his senses....

07 July 1994 Accident --- SM1 overturned at the foot of basic main range (BMR) during an Armour Skills & Arms practice ... the tank commander from 41SAR Gryphon company, a 2SG regular crashed to died. Because of this case, Armour no longer has this Skills and Arms competition since then ...
Almost 1 year ago in 1993, his tank commander also died from tank overturned at the foot of Jasmine. -

year 98 or 99.... the lost of NDU's (officer)
a ex with our cdo's.
incident happened at some where near marina bay. this was one of the secret ex which also held with those SOF (during that time, SOF was confidential and such ex... will never be made known of).
part of the ex require silent operation, and the thingy was darken ship, and this stu.pid cargo ship knock down that inflatable boat, during that time, there r 2 diver and 4 cdo onboard.
once being hit, the NDU officer was trying hard to get all his comrade's to the sea boat. from another diver, the office manage to get whole of 3 cdo to the float sea boat, and without any touch light, he swim around to look for the 4th cdo. and..... he insit he have to get whole of all man's!!! the very last time he leave the sea boat, he was never been see again.
2 days later, his body was being recover, and.... the caused of his dead.... NOT DROWN!!! but head injury!!!
still remember, during his funeral, i saw some injured cdo and i would say... those cdo whos onboard that sea boat all have tears with them. as.... we know, we have lost a good officer and friend.
to be very frank, while im typing all this, my brain was jam and the memories was so clear and fresh to me.... ofcoz, i did drop my tear when we start singing our song at the funeral, and during that time, our whole unit, and every man, was so sad about it! as.... he was one of the best office's!!!!

This got nothing to do wif weekday or whatever day it is. Main cause is the AMX main chassis too narrow ( not wide enough ) to prevent overturn when manoeuvring on uneven terrain.Originally posted by mhcampboy:Did this happened on a same weekday? As in wednesday or something.... -
3 Incident happened during my NSF time. First is the famous dunking incident that result in the death of the 2SGT. Still can imagine the CO lying to us telling us that he died in the Tekong swimming pool!! A few weeks later the whole battalion was gathered, I thought they are releasing the results of the investigation..............but.......... incident number two happen........... this Indian 2SGT died while taking part in the test to bcome a ranger, he died why running. Haizzz..............
Lastly, this PC motorcycle crashed, his leg was amputated as a result..

Another accident happen in the 1995 Army Half Marathon organise by 8SAB. One PTE from 40SAR was killed during pre-dawn hours when a kee-siao high speed Honda Civic rammed into him at Fort Road while escaping from TP chase as the PTE was there as a road marsher for the event. WTF SAF wants him to station there in such an early hours !! CO then MAJ Bernard Tan KK (now BG) was in tears when he announced this sad accident to the unit. -
