  wads the diff bet. mono intake and bmtc...? very the confused.....

  Seems that people with O-Level qualifications and below are more prone to mono-intake. Actually Mono-intake and BMTC not much difference. Mostly to train up ur physique and fitness. But the main difference is more porbably that if u are in mono-intake, for example in Artillery, u will learn stuff about the Artillery things straight from the start liao. BMTC just concentrate on passing whatever needs to pass(IPPT, SOC) and becoming fit.
  
  And not forgetting, Mono-intake means u in mainland Singapore. BMTC means u spend ur life on an island.

  mono-intake means u will remain in the unit as a man after POP. u will ORD with your fellow mates u meet from day 1.
  
  for BTMC, CPC will only decide where to post u to only after POP.

  my batch of mono-intake > all A'levels/Diploma holders.
  
  does CDO, Armour, Artillery, Signals, CE etc etc dun think can have O'levels...

  Rubbish, arty, cdo, etc all have 'O' level men. Education does not necessarily make a good combat soldier. Lets not get snobbish here.
  
  I think on of teh biggest difference in mono-intake versus bmtc besides the fact that you learn more about the combat arm of the unit you mono-intake with versus bmtc is, the opportunities to get sent for SISPEC and OCS are harder to come by, especially in some of the arms like infantry.
  
  Something I always thought wasn't fair.

  Mono: Begin army life in Unit, make friends in your unit, stay with your friends throughout your army life (assuming there is no hip-cup) and end your army life with your Unit (Both ORD and ROD)
  
  BMTC: Begin army life on an island, make friends in BMTC, then POP, go to Unit, begin next phase of army life in Unit, make new friends in the Unit, when ORD liao can suay-suay kena post to another to a new reservist unit. Then......begin reservist in a new reservist unit , then make new friends again , etc, etc.....
