Typically, officers disciplinary matters are dealt with by the CO, not the RSM these days. However, the key words you can read from some of the articles refer to junior officers. I've seen RSMs reprimand younger officers quite frequently - those lieutenants.
If you see the RSM salute you, a junior officer for no reason, you know its a preface to a scolding. My previous RSM would sedia himself, fire off a salute and then proceed with 'Sir, ...'. Surely kenna from CO later. Happens sometimes. -

I think the Monkey god is "Monkey" Chia, he teaches Commandos to kill in the jungle and rear's a monkey with him.

RSM very polite (but sarcastic) and the officers very "malu" but still must take it. -
My RSM was a bigtime arsehole. Had a million arguments with him and always won. Most Junior officers are good pals with warrants as they are like friendly uncles to us but when it comes to warrants like my ex-rsm, we'd antagonise him until he would just shrug and leave. So it all boils down to how an encik is able to find his own balance.

No way would any officer be impress and write a recommendation letter for promotion after being punish to do push-up by the RSM due to walking across the parade square. A NCO(Non Commissional Officer) has no authority to punish a commissional officer, not to mention that the officer is a captain in rank and holding the appointment as an OC. The parade square were marked distinguishly with yellow paint. During those days, no one is allow to walk across the parade square except during parade ceremonial or drill lesson/session. RSM was named King of the Parade Square as they are the subject matter expert in the field of Drills and Parade Ceremonial.
Tiger Hong spotted that officer walking across the parade square, he first salute and greet the officer then request him to remove the epaulettes from his shoulder. Conduct an extra drill session on the spot for him then ask him to put on his rank back on the shoulder, salute him after the drill session. -

Correct me if I'm wrong but its incorrect to remove the epaulettes in the first place. Its a silly gesture that warrants invented to circumvent insubordination.

the story goes... the captain asked his Div Comd to recommend Tiger Hong for Commissioned Officer appointment. I heard he attended the PRO term of OCC and commissioned to be a CPT. His pay was around 2k less than wat he was earning as a SWO. and ended up ending his tenure as a CPT

nowadays, if any enciks see any officers walk across the parade square, they will closed 1 eye lah. don't think they will go and tekan the officer.
anyway from past experiences, i personally saw people walking across the parade square quite a no. of times. -
