I was right, that kind of loadout needs digital pattern camouflage.

Haha, the new uniform standard is causing some hickups with the Log side at my base, not everybody was issued and thanks to me gonna ORD real soon (like in two weeks), I wasn't issued... it's either that or the new specs kapo my stuff...
But I think we are trying to adopt a more amerikean style of uniform with all the patches and stuff, and maybe also easier for MP to book you if you play punk outside. But yeah, the digitial camo is going to cost quite a bit, and I doubt the SAF is willing to spend on something that's useful but has lower wayang value.
The D&G kneepads and elbow pads aren't very good stuff either, they are pretty stiff and don't hold very well to your joints. They tend to ride up and down after a while. If you are really on you might go get a set of blackhawk ones, but they're gonna eat into your NSF allowance.
And nice LBVs, but I kinda wished they started to implement body armour, especially in urban combat where such protection is needed. I heard the verdict is still out with the ADF trying it, but it has saved many lives in iraq, and the additional weight is worth it. -
does green camo uniform help? shldn't they use other colors?
of course nt the desert camo as it doesn't help here too.... -
The grey ACU/ or a mix of jungle and urban camo print.
That should work.
Having a jungle camo in urban setting, is like painting a red circle on a black car. -

Didn't know that gloves and eye protection is now standard for urban warfare. Where were those along with the knee and elbow pads when we were doing Fibua some years back.
The officer standing in the open playing with his PDA, never take cover with his men. :-) -

I think the urban camou issue not veri important, why? Bcos, walk 20+ km uniform all wet thru liao, from far look hitam, hitam lar.......
