i thought in SAF, dissentment would be the first to be covered up. -

I read the email when SAF RSM wrote to all RSM. I read it in its entirety.
1. The email from the 2SG was sent anonymously using Yahoo and he was using "Mr Tan".
2 He wrote it ambiguously so as not to be identified.
3. The comment by the RSM was that, although he got good points about the state of welfare to the men of SAF, he wrote it in a manner not respectable to the receiver (in this case CAF).
But i must admit he got balls to write such a letter.
But I am actually quite happy that he dared to write the letter as it really addressed the everyday problems we encounter but Senior Officers thought their Junior Officers would have taken care of. -

I heard from my relative that in one institute of higher learning (the 1st one), they ask the students to collect minimum of $15 per person for the freshmen orientation flag day in order to qualify for one community work in the Character education module. Maybe the CO knows about it as the army already have these citizens trained by the institute of higher learning.

but there was a letter in the ST forums regarding this topic of forced donation what. i remember a couple of heated letters being published following the 1st, but don't remember any reply from mindef.
