NS bound - Earning enough for University

  Hey all. I'm really new to this particular forum, but i have a couple of questions for you guys.
  
  I currently have a diploma (in law) and wish to serve my NS in something related, either the SPF or the PROVOST unit in the Army. I feel that being in a related vocation will serve well in retaining all i learn and putting a hands-on practical use of my knowledge.
  
  Since i'm NS bound, i'm thinking of signing on to earn enough for my overseas education (in the UK). I figured that i'd save everything i earn in the police force for 5 years. A 3 year LL.B would amount to about 100k in Singapore Dollars.
  
  How much would that accumulate to? Any ideas or suggestions?

  To study at Uni of Nottingham Law
  now it cost UK$9210 (SG$28k), living is UK$600 amth.
  lets say cost of living is UK$7000 a yr.
  fees and living cost never increase.
  
  1 yr will be SG$48k, 3 yrs will be more than SG$100K
  with fees increasing 5yrs from now.. at a rate of 5% each yr.. U do the math.
  If U can get exemptions of 1 yr it will be somewhere around SG$100K for now, most likely not the case 5yrs from now.
  
  cost of other Uni about the same..
  University of Bristol, LLB UK$9600 a yr
  University of Durham LLB UK$9120 a yr
  University of Exeter LLB UK$8760 a yr
  University of Leicester LLB UK$8420 ayr
  University of Sheffield LLB UK$8500 (SG$24k) a yr (9mth living UK$5500 1 yr is UK$7500)

  I found myself a great university in the UK; the University of Sheffield. The fees for one academic year is UK8500, and the cost of living there is relatively cheaper than other parts of the UK (around UK400 per month depending on types of accomodation and living). But if, by that time, it increase by 5%, I wouldn't be discouraged.
  
  Also, I already have nearly 20k in fixed deposit savings to supress any excess financial needs. But of course, if I could earn more than 100k in 5 years serving in the SPF or PROVOST units, it would be better (i really need a more smaller/lighter laptop, extra books . ect)
  
  Which one of these units (SPF; PROVOST) has a better pay plan? Any ideas?

  5% compound increase over 5 yrs is quite a bit..
  UK$8500 now, 5 yrs later will be like UK$10.7K (SG$31K) for the 1st yr.
  cost of living UK$400 now will translate to like UK$500 (SG$1400) in 5 yrs time.
  
  Regarding where pay more $$, I think U can check their site. They should post some scale..

  my opinion is u should just sign on to the vocation which can get u the most money, anyway provost or police althought they are involved in law enforcement, i doubt that they will have much relavance to your LLB...

  Yeah. Well, perhaps still close enough. Do you have any idea of a vocation which earns you the most money? I called them up but they don't seem to have the information.
