ict: how much salary such that u won't get called back

  It's pretty hard to escape reservist unless you are downgraded to Pes E/F.

  There is no official cap on the pay to which they will not call you back.
  
  Usually NS Brigade/Battalions are given a budget and from this budget the Unit will see who they should call back to maximise the effectiveness of the Reservist exercise.
  
  I got this info from a NS Unit Chief Clerk.
  
  But I have known established lawyers earning mid-5 figures (40,000-60,000) montly still being called back to do reservist duty as a clerk.

  yeah, i remember my friend mentioned to me too some high level executive from singtel going back to do reservist. he was even allowed to bring his laptop in to continue doing his work, supposedly working on some multi-million proposal at the time.

  So we just need to hope everybody in our reservist unit earns tons of money so the battalion will have to choose...

  for me, i saw ppl who made very high pay also have to come back lah

  If your vocation is classified or rare, chances are that you will be recalled no matter what pay scale you enjoy.

  Correct but I think latest changes- Once u completed ur 10 yrs ICT, no more reservist for u liao. That include no more recall manning, no more IPPT. Provided u collect ur C.O.A and ur M.R certificate.

  As a ex-Chief clerk my point is:
  no matter how high your salary scale maybe you are all still in recall mode. Only diffrent is they wouldn't call you in so frequently, maybe 2 or 3 ICT then they will act blur.
  
  I do have a NSmen previously, his monthly income at about SGD 50k, he only serve 3 ICT and he had stand down when he reaches his 40s.

  When you have a $50k per month salary, and you go for a 2 weeks stint, you probably can claim $25k. But remember that IRAS will check that you have already paid your income tax of $120k (or ~20% of yearly taxable income).
  
  At the maximum call-up of 40 days a year, the government would be very happy for you to declare as much income as you want.

  The money is not an issue. The thing is, as long as u are below 40, u are still liable for reservist. How much money u have, unfortuntately won't help

  How about Businessman whose income varies every month...
  This month he make big sale make $50million, next month no sale so no $$$..
  How to pay him?
  
  If you make like abt >8k per month and no impt appointment holder, then they will call you back once or twice action action then forget about you till ROD age. Thats what I heard from CO when he tell us abt reservist...Haha.
  
  If you big shot e.g. CEO or bigshot MD of some companies then too bad coz they must action recall you, otherwise people kpkb...

  Go get an overseas job. Very likely that they will not call u back.
