How to march with sheath swinging like crazy?

  Should pity the RSM, when the officers hentak kaki, at least can like hold the scabbard, but the RSM already using the left hand to hold the pace stick...saw a moment when it was swinging quite badly

  Isn't it a bit ridiculous to make the RSM carry around a sword when he doesn't even get to use it. If they want him to carry the sword then dispense with the pace stick. Its redundant to be carrying both.
  
  As for marching, the scabbard does swing around rather awkwardly if you go too fast, which is why the GOH was marching quite slowly ie smaller step.

  I read that it is a privilege for the parade rsm to wear the sword when on parade.
  I think it is great that they are given this kind of recognition.
  Don't think he minds it "clanging" around but I do agree, it does look pretty dangerous swinging all over the place like dat.

  RSM will onli unsheath his sword when paying compliment to the singapore flag...other than that..its juz dresscode

  I thought he only use his right hand to salute? tru out the ndp parade, i nv see the parade RSM unsheathed the sword leh.
  anyway, don't u guys think it is kinda ugly to do sword drills with the pacestick under the arms?

  theres no need for him to pay compliment to the flag wat....his job for the parade is to form up the supporting contingent...

  The sword probably does not have the right hardness for fighting. It will break the minute it contact a hard surface.

  the drill sword is almost the same as the officers. only lighter and the crest on the blade is not as define.
  the silver sword if i am not wrong is the old officer's sword. the sword of honour is also silver.
