drug abusing and possession in saf

  i heard that if serviceman caught drug abusing and/or possession he will be send into DB for 7 years is it true?

  Depends on the President of GCM.
  
  If very serious, can sentence you to QRP for many many years.
  More serious cases go Sub-Court, kena many X good ones.
  Minor ones also kena 2yrs of detention....

  This 7 years DB thing... who here thinks it is just a myth spreading aroud?
  
  just seems that every major offence in SAF warrants 7 years DB.
  
  But the most seriously case i heard is 3 years DB. that's for multiple AWOL.

  not sure about 7 years db but for drugs they do double charge(petty extreme and nnecessary if you ask me) and they do send to db for a long time( i know of one for 2 years in my unit)

  Had a storeman who got into trouble with taking drugs, but he wasn't in DB for a year. Much less, although I cannot be sure how long exactly.

  I think 7 years is the theoretical maximum, but I've never heard of anyone getting such a long sentence before.
  
  However, the spectre of double charge is very real. Once you get out of DB, expect to get charged in civillian court as well.
