History of SAF's UN Peacekeeping Missions

  UNSMA (UN Special Mission to Afghanistan)
  
  This is Singapore's first peacemaking mission. From May 97 to May 98, LTC Lo Yong Poo assumed the appointment of Military Advisor to the UN Special Mission in Afghanistan (UNSMA) which was set up to facilitate the national reconciliation and reconstruction in Afghanistan.

  And it is this posting that LTC Lo Yong Poo got the Distinguished Act Medal.
  
  The highest medal ever awarded (there is one higher but no one has been awarded that yet).
  
  There are 3 other people who has this medal, 2 of them are New Zealanders.

  dunno whether e officers gt don anythn anot... eg: carry boxes,etc.. or they juz go there cultural xchange...

  That's humanitaranian missions. not Peacekeeping.
  
  Lo Yong Poo evacuated Kabul when Kabul was under attack.

  For what man.. Singapore so harmless, what can Lo yong poo have implemented that made Taliban hate him?

  I am not surprised if he is currently working on consultant basis to SAF.
