How are the meals-ready-to-eat (MREs) now?

as compared to the older ones how is the taste like? some food critics who were interviewed even complimented it.

Some of the items are more tasty than others.
But can get constipation if eat too much.

Been so many years since I last touched one, over 7 years ago. What's the menu like today? I always remember the food is crap but the dessert is something to save for.

dun bother lah,the only good thing to eat outfield now is the hot maggi mee meal.
Used to have that old glutinous rice which i liked and always ate that,now that is gone,rest of the new "flavors"MRE really CMI. -
I rather eat the maggie mee dry and uncooked.

Anyway, lucky I in Armour - no one eats combat rations.

yeah, the pasta cannot make it.
I remember during field camp, our sergeant try 2 force us 2 eat the ready-to-eat meals, say we need the energy. But most of us just eat the Khoon Guan biscuit. -
MRE best... My company like it alot sia... Can kahpo comfirm take wan... We eat MRE like eating hot meals... So yummy

Haven't tried these new-fangled meals....always ate dog biscuits in the field but the cadbury chocalates we had in those days were good.

and no, i am from armour and i still gotta eat green packs since our M113 can only put so much can tuna, fruit, ba teng, and we cannot cook maggi mee.......

Last time got this instant rice.. like seafood fried rice, just add water wait few minute can eat liao. That one our fave. -
I never liked the rice meals - they would crystallise and taste really, really weird.
The only rice meals that I liked was the glutinous rice - but only when heated up.
Otherwise I would survive primarily on the hard dog biscuits and my own Uncle Toby's bars out in the field.
Needless to say, for me outfield was synonymous with weight-loss program. -
