Regarding dessemination of information

Hello guys, today one of my officers briefed us on the above-mentioned...SAF is taking a strong view of those who disseminate information without authorization
on BLOGS, WEBSITES AND INTERNET FORUMS. Lazy to go into the details, but my officer summed it up very nicely. "In short, the less you talk about SAF the better." This includes posting of pictures of our equipment which are not already public domain i guess...just a friendly word of advice, quite a few guys kena already...maximum punishment is imprisonment! So have fun posting, but be aware....cheers -

Just to add on Hellraiza's comments, which I find very timely.
Most officers I talked to in the past, didn't have any idea about the sheer length and breadth of military tactics and warfare policy websites and discussion forums around the world.
Most of what local military enthusiasts know about the SAF are taken from foreign defense contractor press releases, JANES/related military hardware journals, defence policy institute papers, media and information departments of foreign armies that the SAF engages in bilateral or multilateral exercises with.
So rest assured, most of us will know what is public, or not public. ST news release is bo-pak-kay one.Some of the equipment we own, were already released and discussed by international observers in the public domain in their official capacity before the ST even comes in with their tamed story.
However, for those who are unsure, ask before you post. If you find that you feel something's amiss, DO NOT POST.

Haha. I think, it's just a matter of time lah. Soon they will be making nothing but camera handphones. What then? Then again, the military has traditionally been the most resistant to change. I won't be surprised if they issue Nokia 8210 for in-camp purposes. LOL.

I understand the need for not bringing the camera phones to camp because we have hidden & classified technology/weapons which the US & Israel doesn't have

I see increased pride about our Armed Forces when people have a better idea of what we do.
Anyway, the RSAF open house will feature the M113 IGLA ADV. Something which eagle eyed enthusiasts would have spotted during last National Day Parade. It is an interesting amalgam of American platform, a possibly Israeli-German FCS system with Russian SAM systems. -

Dust proof and shock proof, and able to access military networks for your OC to yell at you during exercise.

The handphone will probably come with a catch.Just like any other things the government offers eg. progress package. If they give you a handphone,you'll should be worry about your ass.
Probably the phone will come with those MIW posters as phone wallpaper and our world class army songs as ringtone. No bluetooth but every month it comes with a over-inflated bill from our Brigadier General's telco -
gosh, imagine the engineer march as my ringtone.

would help drive up our comms & matertials R&D. and as usual, start marketing our original copies as cheaper alternatives to 3rd world nations.
