who here cut their hair before enlisting?

any of u shaved your hair outside before enlisting? i'm thinking of doing that, a nicer botak than the recruit cut

I rem those who shaved their heads before going in,still have to go with us to heve haircut.
And the barber will stil run his shaver thru those botak heads. -

Don't need to cut too much lah. The barber will cut for you, so why bother.
Just make sure your hair not extremely long or have funny things (like pink and gold streaks, rebonded, etc) cause you will stand out and your instructors will remember you... and not in a good way. -
i suggest u cut la... coz dunno wat time u get 2 wash ur head oso... juz go 2 e barber n tell him tt u goin 2 enlist liao... he agar agar can cut 4 u 1 la.. dun worry... most of my platoon mate enlist tt time oready botak...

actually, u can view the shaving ceremony as part of the package too..
sort of everyone lining up... shaving away the civilian way of life..
and btw, u are going to be cut just as randomly by the barbers eventually for ur next hair cut. no mercy just becoz u cut ur's or cur ur's nicely outside...
when u have to cut, all will still cut tgt.. regardless of hair. haha. -
I still can recall during my BMT, some recruits only got their hair cut by the 3rd day due to the large no. of recruits enlisted. Only 4 barbers to handle.

I was thinking of doing that also, since after shaving or watever, those little hair around the neck area damn irritating and i doubt we get to shower.

i went into ns with a no.1 cut...when the rest were cutting hair, i already napping in bunk. On the floor, of course.

Hmm. no point cutting.
Most sergeants in BMTC too scared to allow you not to go for haircut. Then CSM will just say "whole company go".
Then the barber wants your $$$. So his policy is usually, "if my clipper cut any hair, i charge you". Then he will press his clipper real hard to cut hair.
You come can think of it... you cut hair and not get hair cut.. then slowly.. everybody cut hair before enlisting.. then uncle no business. -
Huh? The barber gets flat fee for the entire intake what. The recruits don't pay for the own haircut. So it doesn't matter to them.
Unless you tell me the SAF has implemented the stupid "put-disc-in-the-box-whilst you quene" system for the barber as well??

And some barbers charge a "per month" service.
So that 2 dollars and you sign your name, you can always go back to him within the month. -

yes.. it is better to cut your hair.. one of my section mates didnt cut hair.. went in with dyed hair and kena suan ALL THE TIME.
