ROD? Manpower Not Enough!: PES E Now Need Go Back Reservist

HI, i know that when you get pes E you do not need to serve reservist. I was told that you will be getting some kind of green piece of paper that shows that you have ROD and you might have to show to the immigration officer if he asks for it to show that you do not have any more reservist liablities.
Can anyone here give me more details on this. Like how long do i have to wait before i can get that document. I was also told pes E people are put into MIndel reserve. What do they mean by that? -

currently policy state that pes e is not liable to reservist but if policy change to all pes e liable to reservist still need to go back

WHat do they mean by reserve? I understand all those old 50 years old guys who have ROD are somehow in MIndef reserve. I guess its like asking them to fight if all pes A-D guys have all been defeated by the enemies. Legally, you are still liable for reservist and can be called back. In practice, however, PES E personnel are usually never called back unless you are a key personnel. Pes E MOs have been called back for reservist duties eg. to conduct FFI for Phase I and II IPPT screenings.

So far no one has explained that green document declaration form that one other pes E person told me about. Any ROD personnel have that piece of paper? I was told you are to show it to the immigration officer if he asks for it.

How long did you go to stay in malaysia.
After speaking to the army helpline, i found out that you need Exit permit only if you plan to stay overseas for more than 6 months.
I type in the particulars of a pal who is still serving ns to apply for exit permit and found out that he is also eligiable. only different is he has less reasons to give for requesting for exit permit. -

For what me understand, Pes E personnel are still liable for reservist callups as more and more units are formed to be the backoffice sort of units to support combat units...
Me got a Pes E friend who is a clerk by vocation is serving his reservist liability in a unit... -
FYI..
now Immigration officers do not check for Exit Permits or liability of reservist when you enter/exit the country.
They only do so if you are "red-taped" or your name is in some alert list by MINDEF.
And now entry and exit controls are done by ICA. So they know whether you need an EP without having to ask you.
As for ROD letter, yes you will get it. You should contact your S1 for it. My firend got it on his ORD day. -
I was told that those people who have key appointments are still liable to serve reservist despite pes E status like mentioned by the guy earlier. Since i was a pes A and in a combat vocation, does not seem possible. I have couple of frens who got pes C after ord, one in combat engineers and the other in FDS both were told by unit they do not need to come back for reservist. Makes sense why would a combat unti require more admin clerks for? And i do not think people who were non clerks during nsf can become clerks as they have to undergo training. i guess some ppl just cannot do admin work.
Anyway its already sort of established pes E no more reservist can go burn uniform liao how come all of a sudden this kind of thing comes up? Those pes E Mo's you can understand as they are MO's ie key appointment holders and saf may have a shortage of those kinds of people so i guess they lan lan bring them back.
I already in ROD modd i go burn my uniform liao.

My reservist unit different from my nsf unit. I have never met any of the key personnel in my reservist unit. Only the RSM is familar and that's becos i trained under him while i was still a trainee in that camp.Originally posted by Ponders:FYI..

Posted out of my reservist unit and into RSAF medical holding list.
Of course no more mob, ippt and all this kinda shit!!!
Just one thing i need clarification on. The phrase medical holding list makes it seem like i might be there for couple of years and then they might decide to call me back for review or whatever kind of shit. Anyone can confirm this to be true? That's why i mentioned the ROD letter thingy, 100% confirmation thingy. Paranoid man -

Call u back for medical check up is also unlikely, unless u are still holding to a temp PES status.
Also PES E ppl can be call up if they hold KAH appointments (i.e CO, OC, S1, etc) or u are a PES E Chief Clerk then lan lan have to come back (I have a fren who kena this)
