Time SAF opened up courses

These days you see so many officers wearing various badges on their chests, JCC, CSB, etc
Why haven't the SAF allowed the men and specialists to attend such courses as well? Sure I understand that they want to give the officers a sense of achievement, but what about the men and specialist.
I think a heighten awareness of the non-officers will do SAF a world of good. -
who will conduct the courses?
And the resources required?

They've been out processing all these old regulars and bringing them back as civilian contractors no? There's your manpower pool.

I'm not saying make it mandatory for everyone to take, but at least give people a chance to go for them if they want to. resources requirements are much more than that..

furthermore, we don't really need a clerk with a JCC badge or a RP with airborne badge right? -
yes that would be a waste of manpower.

i think that NSFs should be allowed to go on JCC, airborne and other courses, and im not talking abt commandos. yes, regulars have priority while NSFs serve 2 years and F-O. but i feel that MINDEF should keep in mind that NSFs and NSmen outnumber regulars, and should crap hit the fan, the people under the category "NS" make up the bulk of the fighting force. -

i can confirm men from 6SIR do went for the course. many have gotten the badge. just that currently most of them don't wear it as they are waiting for the new olive green version of the badge to be issued.Originally posted by insouciant:Really?
