  In mono units, u will learn how to bond with your mates. Everyone will chip in. No selfishness allowed.
  
  There will be minor fun or bullying, but its all in the name of fun.

  hmm... then i hope u don't get bad influence from your platoon mates. cos as the rest pointed out, u will be spending your 2 years in the same unit with the same people. and one will easily learn bad influence like smoking if one is not careful.
  
  but nevertheless, try to blend in with them, just leave out the bad habits. hopefully u will be able to make friends there cos with friends by your side, training and exercises won't be so boring.

  Mono-intake, you will make great buddies because you will most likely spend the entire 2 years or 1 yr 10 months with the same group of guys.
  
  Usually everyone will learn to get along, even the guys that are a bit odd. The platoon / section will try to look out for each other as punishment is often collective.
  
  And the Hokkien pengs are the best. Not scared of siong stuff. Do swee swee one time and that is it. Not as many ku niangs.
  
  Just don't be a prima donna or ku niang, be a part of the team and you should be fine.
