u need a full 'A' level cert, a recognised diploma or degree to sign on as officer.Originally posted by ^tamago^:think regular can, for those very very promising ones. they will also send u for diploma or degree courses as well (since u're promising enough).....
the idea of minimum entry requirement is cos SAF wants all leaders to be graduates (diploma is allowed since can quite easily upgrade to degree).
u left 4 more mths n yet u quit??!!Originally posted by celong27:hehe im 25 this year i first sign on as a regular police officer when im 20 but i left 4 more months to complete for 5 years and due to some persoanl reasons quit the force and since i never complete the 5 years i have to severe ns again cos the 5 years bond got include ns liability . that is called minimum term of engagement.
so is it correct to say u've been with SPF for 4 yrs 8 mths? in tis case, i feel u made a wrong move. u should endure the last 4 mths rather den waste another 2yrs in army. jus my opinion, no offence.Originally posted by celong27:ya that was a harsh decision but i never regret it cos i feel that that is not the kind of life i want to lead on too fake i just dont know how to describe in words .
i've alreadi said OCS only accept 'A' levels n poly. did u read my posts?Originally posted by celong27:haiz ya but however i alrady quitted so no point liao btw if i express an interest to be a commander will they consider me for ocs cos if i kanna sispec might as well be a man and not a commander rite? i have been play acting for the past years and have enough
i not sure whether they recognise certs from SIM anot. wat exactly is ur qualification? u mentioned u have only 'O' levels n now u asking abt SIM dip. btw, wat rank were u in SPF? everyone in SPF i oso refer them as policer officer.Originally posted by celong27:sob... even from sispec cross over to ocs also chances veri slim ? cos im a officer last time and dont intend to downgrade to become men or sgt that is my sincere wish btw does saf recognise advanced dip from sim or must die die degree? diploma level from sim enough?
huh?Originally posted by celong27:oic i last time sgt my o level results qualify for poly but i used to take dip in hotel management from shatec and cmpb based on that state that i attended dip programme and pack me to bmtc sch 1 . i intend to take up dip and from there advanced or degree but i dont know saf recognise sim or not but i know teaching profession recognise sim
since u were a sgt in SPF, wats the diff wif being a sgt in army? anyway, shatec is not recognised as equivalent to a diploma.Originally posted by celong27:oic i last time sgt my o level results qualify for poly but i used to take dip in hotel management from shatec and cmpb based on that state that i attended dip programme and pack me to bmtc sch 1 . i intend to take up dip and from there advanced or degree but i dont know saf recognise sim or not but i know teaching profession recognise sim

Wah lao.
Lets get this str8 ok.
BMTC is not a command sch! Doesnt mean you go there you become sgt or offc.
BMTC are for O levels and above!!
If you have less than five O levels credits, you cannot become a sgt or offc!!
If you have a private ADVANCE DIPLOMA then you are eligible for sispec. PRIVATE DIPLOMA only is not enough!!
SIM is considered semi government. But still private.
Yes its enough. But you need 5 O levels credit. Meaning this credits are eligible for a poly seat.Originally posted by monoslayer:'O' level is enough to go sispec.
I know of a guy who got posted to SISPEC from BMTC but only have 'O's....didnt finish dip also...so I know it can be done...just that I dunno if it will be done in ur case or not...Originally posted by celong27:Hihi guys pls advise me im going in bmtc sch 1 this sat at 9 am but i wonder y i kanna bmtc sch even though my highest qualifaction is o levels . I took diploam course but never graduate. May i know if i express an interest to be an officer or sgt is there any possibility of being selected? pls help!
maybe he wanted to be a officer in the SAF so much that's why he quits. am i right celong27? but i must say you have taken a wrong move. 4 months passes very fast, u should have endured.Originally posted by monoslayer:u left 4 more mths n yet u quit??!!
