I was sad and happy at the same time.
My last 6 months in NS was fabulous. Things were working right with colleagues and superiors and subordinates, and had a lot of fun. That's why I was sad.
Nevertheless, was happy that 2 and half years had gone by and I was not seriously injured, abused or bullied. And looking forward to university overseas and a new life.
I ,too, like some forumnites, went to say goodbye to my CO, OC and RSM. Did not really say goodbye to friends because we had promised to keep in touch after ORD ( those that were not at the same time).
My ORD was just after my men ROD. So there was no big thing. It was a quiet period in camp.
Then I met my RSM (again) a few years later, working as a security supervisor at my company !!! He had retired. -

The day I ORDed, all the big craps stayed away.
Book in with CV pass, chase some more signatures, go to NS clerk, sign some stuff, listen to some stuff, take pink IC, book out and went home to sleep.
Actually, I feel like the day where I brought my entire barang-barang home, on one of my leaves days. It felt surreal, like, finally taking whatever I have there back with me. Nothing else there belongs to me anymore.
Almost shed a tear after walking out. -

Actually last time when one of my recruits passed IPPT and was given 2 weeks deferment, he was allowed to bring his IC home. He lost his wallet during this period.
When he made new IC, SAF never pestered him to return it. So he is now holding both is 11B AND Pink IC. I wonder what SAF will do now when they open his docket to find the pink IC is not there to return to him. haha. -
haha wat i did was, i go around all the sqn to bid farewell to my fellow clerks goes to comd audi and kick the wheel and went to cookhouse and all the way back to sqn the showoff pink ic

After serving for a good 9 yrs in a shit hole in the one hundred and sixty fifth bull.S.hit place I was so glad I ORD from there.....
I was not even given any time off for all the NDP late nights... weeks exercise late nights...weeks and tell me those are not entitlements then after Govt gave sat and sun non-working if the ex falls over the weekend sorry bro its your problem...
Also you cannot clear block leave you can only clear 2 days every week till you ORD so go and plan and its up to my approval... WTF right man where in the world we have such good COs and OCs...
Anyway back to the topic when I ORD with all my coursemates we never really celebrate just meet up for breakfast and went back to collect our IC...Best part was the next day...Y...
I planned my wedding the very next day and invited all my good friends and collegues leaving those As.holes everyone doesn't want to see.... and had a great night with all my friends at my wedding ....

Talking about O.R.D.. Yeah its a sweet kind of thing. But it's quite sad. Coz i am very bond wit my camp mates. Do work together, talk about problems, help each other.. dealing Supplies for the stupid battalion!!... Laughter, all the jokes.. wow.. i'm quite miss that ... especially in the bunk.. brotherly man to man talk.. its very nice.. although yeah some of u might thing.. in camp really su.x but... its how u manage it with the stay...
On my ord day.... just the right time that my unit are having a red alert something like rehearsals? i come there to collect my i/c.. and i was like wat the heck? everybody long four?? helmet rifle all standby liao... and at that time S1 branch are very very very bz.... handle all their weapons, clean it.. fix bayonets to SBO.. etc2.. so i dun quite have a heart to disturb them actually.. lol!.. because i knoe later once the siren is out, everybody in that camp turnout..!.. so i understand.. and i went to my bunk
(still have the keys wit me).... wow.. open the door and look at it.. damn.. its different.. after such a long time never comeback to camp (clear leave).. and... look at my empty bed wit the opened cupboards... remind me of all the memories in there.. then.. i decided to lie down for a while.. look at the fan.. hahaha... this is the last time i goin to look at u, fan... (the 1st sight of the bunk fan is at tekong during BMT).... then what sumore? sleep la for a while lol!
ok.. then after collecting my I/C and my mates hold me and ask me to join them to play street soccer at night...so i decided to stay.. and play my LAST SOCCER WIT THEM!! haha.. so nice.. its like my TESTIMONIAL MATCH!... lol... then after play soccer.. then go bathe.. waaa.. this is the last time gonna use S.A.F water.. lol!.. and finally shake hands to all my mates and leave the guard room at night..
Hahaha.. the BOS in the guard room scold me siaa.. scold scold scold scold y i book out so late.. not properly attire etc2.. i juz flash my pink I/C suddenly he stunned! straight away sit down.. LOL!.. walkout... and took a last look at the camp... BYE BYE 1SIR
