Vulnerable To Sickness Once In Army?

before i enlisted, i seldom have fever or other type of sickness.
but once i enter BMT, i have fever quite a number of times during bmt
why ahz...
yesterday i went back bmt after POP to do guard duty, once i step into tekong i got slight fever n as i was doing guard duty, fever became worse
seriously , wads wrong with me.... -
you are not cut off for the army. please declare 302 and safe yourself the burden of future hardships.

NS days ... no time to get sick. Only once had food poisoning during BMT at Tekong. That was it. -
i remember coughing very badly when i just enlist into bmtc
almost the whole bunk is coughing.... -

During my BMT, I caught the Nee Soon Camp cough for 2 months. Then posted to unit kena chicken pox mc 2 weeks

stress causes illnesses .
BMT is stressful .
it lowers ur imune system , making u more prone to illnesses . -
who knows? could be the lack of hair.

another reason is because there's a much stronger incentive to fall sick during NS then when working/studying, such that you tend to neglect yourself, and for some people, purposely hurt themselves.
another reason is also because of the communal living, and the daily activities. unless you were already very physically active and nature loving kind of guy, you most likely wouldn't be at a jungle/beach every other day, less exposure to bacteria, less immunity, less subconscious will to stay healthy = fall sick easily. -

Well, either 2 things...
you have a weak immune system.
Or before army you led a life away from others and tend to be a "clean" person.
The trend i noticed in army is that my recruits who frequently get sick is that they are usually from middle to higher income families, stay in air con rooms, have their personal bathrooms, and eat richer or home cooked food.
These people usually do not develop immunity that well than people who, eat any food prepared by anybody, shares bathroom with the entire family.
therefore, once in the army, exposed to communal settings, their immunity naturally cannot copy well with the degraded conditions.
first is, army things are never cleaned with detergent/soap (your bunk floor, toilet bowls, mops). Your bunk area cleaning is wiped by the same rag they use to wipe toilet bowls, they are never dried properly so bacteria grows well....
so you are exposed to these things.... -
A lot of people have weak immune systems during NS but strangely once they ORD-ed,their immune systems become very strong...
Maybe medical researchers might wanna look into this interesting phenomenon...

Generally speaking, you should be acclimatised by the first 6 mths in NS.

ITs because the body has not quite adapted to the training. Plus the insufficient rest so the immune system is depressed.
