SINGAPORE: A full time national serviceman was found unconscious at the foot of a four-storey building in Hendon Camp early Monday morning, and later pronounced dead.
The Defence Ministry says Private Yeo Chang Wen, Ambrose, 20, was a driver in Headquarters Supply and Transport.
The duty medical officer attended to him immediately on-site and Yeo was rushed to Changi General Hospital, and pronounced dead an hour later at 3.30am.
Both MINDEF and Police are conducting investigating, and MINDEF and the SAF are providing all necessary assistance to the family. - CNA /dt
Fuck IMF delegates lah only come here play our galsOriginally posted by yoshitei:Even before war breaks out in this region, our NS men are already dying!!!
Who know what will happen when war breaks out with one of our neighbors. Battalions of soldiers will die even before they set foot on enemy soil.
I really pity this soldier and his family. Having a son drawing S$300+ a month as a soldier and dying during training is really one sad case.
Further to this, based on earlier cases, I am sure that MINDEFÂ’s compensation will be less then 50K. That is how cheap a citizenÂ’s life is in the eyes of the government as compared to that of the delegates from the IMF.
I hope the ones doing the investigation can speed up a little and come up with some concrete info. Right now I see wild theories flying, with little respect accorded for the deceased one.Originally posted by drumstick:The police and saf are still conducting an investigation.
I pity the parents, the only son. He have 5 sister and he is their only brother.
Went down to the funeral yesterday. His father is workign in the same company as me.
Feel sad for the father.
Egaroiax is right.Originally posted by egaroiax:About me being a clone -.- Please search for topics I have posted in SAF forum and AA. Anyway about him being chased physically or hounded for the phone vocally his family isn't too sure either. Just got back from the wake again. Tml's the last day and their moving off at 10. To me this is just another innocent victim of social abuse and bullying. His family said he was facing alot of stress in the army. Anyway I'd like to have a moment of peace for him. He's moved on and RIP.
