what happens if broke M16 rifle butt

Should not be something you have to pay. This is normal exercise attrition wear and tear, provided in your 1206 statement, you were carrying out legitimate exercise with your weapon and the damage was inflicted during exercise itself and due to exercise requirements.
Speak to your unit armourer, who is usually a 3SG/2SG.He should be able to tell you more, and he will be helpful if you need a 2nd opinion with your PS or CSM. -

Sounds like BS. I think if he really whack the 'enemy' with the butt till the butt breaks, he would be in custody now doing some serious explaining.

More like you fell on your arse and dropped your rifle.... ended up cracking the butt.
Anyway, like it was mentioned previously, if it was damaged during training and not out of carelessness, then you'll probably won't have to pay.
But if your rifle "butt stroked" the floor or god knows what.. thanks to you dropping it, then tough nuts... u gotta pay. -

no worries. man break things, sergeants write defect forms. besides, like wat another post said, this is a legitimate exercise and the damn thing broke because of wear and tear.
i wont be surprised if the bloody rifles are as old as, if not older than, us. -

Anyway, like the rest say... if broken during training, then you shouldn't have to pay. -

hmm.. training equipment damage i think is not 1206..... it's 1204.
anyway. your OC or your CSM/Armskote Sgt would have a book of prices..
that time i added all the parts of the m16.. total is $1400 plus.
Anyway.. sign your 1204, pay up (if needed) then can ta pao the spoiled butt home.
