lol... but i was thinking along the lines of threadstarter only left 7 days of leave... then tell CO "oei! extend me 7 days so i can clear my leave"Originally posted by ^tamago^:actually wat's the point right?
aint u not in service for the duration of extension?
oh.....tts so sad.Originally posted by Ristar:now, it is compulsory for NSFs to clear their block leaves quarterly (based on unit, some can plan but go back do sai gang if not enough leaves left). no more storing of leaves and do the disappearing act a month or two before ORD.
You can still do the David Copperfield's disapperance act a month or two before you ORD if you claim OFFs from various personnels.Originally posted by Ristar:now, it is compulsory for NSFs to clear their block leaves quarterly. no more storing of leaves and do the disappearing act a month or two before ORD.
those people involved in NDP?Originally posted by packjust:I wonder who has more offs than him?
my cousin had a total or 34 days :SOriginally posted by packjust:You can still do the David Copperfield's disapperance act a month or two before you ORD if you claim OFFs from various personnels.
I got a 3SG who got more than 14 days off plus his 12 days of leave. In total, he got more than 26 days of disappearance act to perform. One month has only 20 working days. So he can do more than a month of disapperance act.

This is a sickening mentality ..... people tends to think that their jobs are important and the organisation cannot function without them.Originally posted by alien09:I have too many tasks to perform before i ord that i doubt i'll have time to clear leave.
Originally posted by NT2:i used to clear my leaves in half-days form. so i come in morning and sit awhile and leave after lunch.
half days make the leave seemed longer and they cant ask u do much when u on half day leaves.
i don't think so cos in my case, i live very far away from camp. somemore i must be in camp by 7am. travelling time is 1+hr to reach camp.Originally posted by Ristar:thats a very good idea!
it's a 6 month contract only and not everyone can get it.Originally posted by packjust:Now, the smarter A-level students would wanna extend their ORD dates 'cos most of them in my unit are leaving in Nov and have to wait until July or August for their Uni studies. That's a period of 8 or 9 mths.
During the extension, they are actually getting 3SG REGULAR pay, i.e. thousand plus dollars per mth. Why not? Since, the work they are doing is quite clerical in nature. That's about enough to pay for roughly 2 years of tuition fees in the Uni (if they are saving $1500 per mth).
He had 26 days away from camp. For me, I went for recourse in Oct 2004, returned to camp in December for 1 month till January, then went Australia on holiday for 14 days, came back in,mid Jan. Left again to clear off and leave in end Feb till my ORD on 10th April.Originally posted by packjust:You can still do the David Copperfield's disapperance act a month or two before you ORD if you claim OFFs from various personnels.

Correct, even officers are turned down, what makes those 3SG think they can get it.Originally posted by nismoS132:it's a 6 month contract only and not everyone can get it.
Yap. Correction... It's 6 month.Originally posted by nismoS132:it's a 6 month contract only and not everyone can get it.
This particular 3SG was a best soldier during training.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Correct, even officers are turned down, what makes those 3SG think they can get it.

haha for me the new guys don't dare to command us ord-ers cos they havent learn everything yetOriginally posted by Gordonator:it was a very bad experience coming back in between leaves. cos 2 month before me and my batch were to ORD, our power/appointment was already handed over to the next generation.
in the past we lao jiao were the ones calling the shots, now the younger generation are "commanding" me. all of sudden i felt so powerless.
It's not so much about whether he is the best.Originally posted by packjust:This particular 3SG was a best soldier during training.
Originally posted by Gordonator:it's strongly advisable to plan your leave carefully. ideally is to start taking them 1 month before u ORD.
in my case, because the unit is very short on manpower, i wasn't able to enjoy 1 full month of continuous leave and have to come back every now and then in between leaves.
