I will not tolerate a coup. It will undermine Singapore's reputation.Originally posted by Pitot:Depends on the new government. If they perform reasonably as the PAP. I will fark the coup.
If they are not capable. let the coup be a success.
But if the new government is leading sg towards a downward spiral fast.. something must happen.. be it by force or by peaceful means..Originally posted by LazerLordz:I will not tolerate a coup. It will undermine Singapore's reputation.

But if you think that a new govt is so incompetent, then I'm afraid the PAP's educational policies have been a major failure and you can pin the blame on the men in white.Originally posted by Pitot:But if the new government is leading sg towards a downward spiral fast.. something must happen.. be it by force or by peaceful means..
nono say say. I am no dismissing the new gov. I say if they prove to be incapable.Originally posted by LazerLordz:But if you think that a new govt is so incompetent, then I'm afraid the PAP's educational policies have been a major failure and you can pin the blame on the men in white.
Anyway, what makes you think the SAF can run the country better?
This is Singapore and Singaporeans have demosntrated time and time again that they believe in the maxim "its not how you get there, its what you do when you get there".Originally posted by LazerLordz:I will not tolerate a coup. It will undermine Singapore's reputation.

With a citizen army, what coup man? You think the regular force have the size to do anything other than draw GS tables and try to recall men?Originally posted by scabstermooch:This is Singapore and Singaporeans have demosntrated time and time again that they believe in the maxim "its not how you get there, its what you do when you get there".
So really, if there's a coup, I expect sgreans would shrug their shoulders, perhaps KBKB at the coffeeshop, then return to work.
if they wana show it then they should be ready to know picture taking session is onOriginally posted by Gordonator:later civilians all come and take photos how?
You do not need huge numbers of people to stage a coup in a country where the vast majority of the population is indifferent to politics.Originally posted by LazerLordz:With a citizen army, what coup man? Our CDF and other Generals probably thinking of what positions they will be given in the govt. sectors after they retired and which BMW model to upgrade rather than to plan a coup in Singapore.Originally posted by leo-kun:what if CDF did something similiar to Roya Thai Army now....
but the temptations of being the prime minister of singapore compared to only being the head of the military.Originally posted by flash9933:Our CDF and other Generals probably thinking of what positions they will be given in the govt. sectors after they retired and which BMW model to upgrade rather than to plan a coup in Singapore.
And to be frown by the international communities?? a forced takeover is something undemocratic. something UN do not like.Originally posted by kian hao:but the temptations of being the prime minister of singapore compared to only being the head of the military.
I disagree with that. You do not need to have friends in the high places, you just need them to be in the RIGHT places. Imagine this, if you are opposition the moment you are up, you will reign in the security chiefs both foreign and domestic tightly. But just wondering, is the Grukhas under SPF command or do they have a different chain of command?Originally posted by |-|05|:The SAF is run by the PAP.....so the only coup will happen is when the PAP loses and the PAP cries to their friends in high places in the SAF.
Gurkhas are commanded by a British Army officer. I heard they report to the MHA?Originally posted by SpecOps87:I disagree with that. Ya, I believe so too. Directly to MHA, not under SPF chain of command. Special elite force that screams out Singaporeans are not to be trusted.Originally posted by LazerLordz:Gurkhas are commanded by a British Army officer. I heard they report to the MHA?
