how to get selected for armoured?

Unless you stay in the far far in the west, you will rue the day you are posted to armour. For the rest of your NS and reservist liability, you will see Sungei Gedong or at best, Choa Chu Kang all the time.

lol for me,when i went for some test at cmpb then later given some form to choose which kinda unit you know about and where you would most like to go to.....i pick i know the least about armor and also the unit i least wanted to go to.....
so? In the end,i ended up in armor mono intake..
lol maybe if you get into the same situation,try the opposite? pick you want go to armor as first choice.
Actually Armor got good and bad points lah.
Bad point:Tonnes of Saikang cos too much things to handle and maintance
Good point:Vehicle can store lots of civilian food as compared to normal infantry kia who if want extra food have to carry it on themselves all the way.Also if kenna armor infantry,flanking movement also not as long as infantry kia.
Summarized,abit easier outfield and much tougher back in camp -

Ya ya ya, last time I in Armour Mortar, then when we go exercise, we packed the whole vehicle with food and soft drinks. commando,guards,combat engineer,infantry,artillery and i think 2 other combat vocation.
At that time,i was really wondering what the hell is armor cos almost never heard of it b4 but tada choose the one i know the least and least want to go result in being armor kia -
During my time in BMT ( I was in ITD), we were given forms to fill up. To mark our choice as to where we want to go. The instructors warned us that it was for show, as no one ever reads it apparently. This was in the 80s.
On the sheet were infantry, guards, armour, armoured infantry, arty, engineers etc.
I marked armour infantry, cos I figured that since infantry was likely to be the case for most recruits ( even if they went to SISPEC or OCS ) , might as well volunteer for armured infantry... but then get to ride on vehicles to go into battle !
When my section leader in ITD saw my choice , he went berserk and started blasting me for trying to think this way -
I had opted in the form to carry on with "Guards" after my BMT when doing my BMT then in 7BTS as kana brain-wash by the Guards instructors. However, when the actual posting came out, was posted to Armour for trade course ...
Towards the end of SISPEC, I volunteered for the PTI course selection and cleared all the entry requirements. Few days later, one of the PTI who was present in the selection interviewed me that I cannot join PTI as my name already "bonded" with Armour. Armour not willing to let go of me bcos I'm suppose to be part of a roving team to train recruits. The only way out is to sign-on as a PTI for me to "escape" from Armour. Of course, I never sign-on. One of my SISPEC company mate whom shortlisted for the PTI course eventually became a PTI, even went through Ranger course and I heard he is a 2WO now.
In the end, I became AI as I was rejected to be a tankee bcos i got partial colour-blindness ...
Now, I ROD liao ... no more IPPT, MOB and ICT ... -

What vocations is roving unit?
One of you manage to go for interview. What interview is that?
Is that interview under recruitment centre? IDT what is stands for?

Not true..I'm a living,breathing example of one.During openhouses, I always try to avoid getting into the AMX. My god...its damn confined lor.
