  "With effect from 08 September 2006, the MSD DIRECTIVE 2/2006 serves to clarify to all servicemen and personnel in MINDEF/SAF that NO image-capturing devices are permitted to be brought into SAF camps and raining areas. Kindly deposit them at the guard room and collect it back at the end of the day when you leave the camp. For laptops, you will need to obtain a LOA and have an encryption software installed on your laptop to ensure that no information is leaked out."

  Actually all these rules were in place last time.. just that it wasn't enforced.
  
  I heard that units still allow personnel to bring in such devices if MSD has deemed the camp not to be a sensitive location.
  
  But S2 of that unit have to submit an application to MSD first.

  Anyway, this apply to senior ranking Officer or not? If I ever see a Maj rank and above Officer using 3G phone......haha. Die.

  All those who drive into the camp are not checked anyway...

  hmm. one thing about SAF directives is that they never mention if this directive supercedes another.
  
  it was MSD directive that any one entering another camp must exchange 11b or unit be informed of the visit beforehand.
  
  however MAJ and above are not subjected to this rule. IN this case, they can enter freely AND bring a imaging device.

  lol. some captains also bring in leh. see till sian. if u drive, most prob wont check hp.
  
  anyway my WO went to disable his camera. 15 bucks. to enable it also another 15 bucks. not bad leh. i wouldnt want to waste money to buy a new hp.

  if that is really the case, i suggest all to start carrying non-camera phones from now onwards. unless u want the RPs to be playing with your phones when u surrender them at the guardhouse.
