Mindef should look into creating their own telecoms infrastructure with cooperation from Singtel within restricted areas.
Personnel booking in will not be able to use their civilian GSM phone system, but an SAF system instead, where specially encrypted phones will be used. The SAF SIM cards should not be interchangeable with current civilian phone models as well. -
SAF could issue standard handphones for tactical reasons. It can be programmed to disable the communications facility when required or when soldiers move out for operations. Soldiers can subscribe at special rates for normal use. All other handphones confiscated at sight.

PR exercise and I hope it fails. The SAF is lousy - Fact. The SAF is unprofessional - Fact. The SAF is trying to hide that. -

To me, it's all crap! If you read the ST forum pages often enough, you'll see the pattern. I'm also damn sure our saf scholars are paid to do something. -
