  Usually 3SG nowadays. 2SGs are less numerous.
  
  1SGs wouls be even rarer. By this time he should already be a PS, unless if there are too many 1SGs to go around.

  In the SAF it's usually a 3SG. But in most other armed forces around the world, such as the US Army, it's actually a LCP or CPL.

  in more high profile units, where competence and professionalism is paramount, the Section Commander holds the rank of SSG, MSG, or 2WO, although the 2WO would have an additional appointment as PL WO.

  My unit's Section IC aka Section Comd appointments are usually MSG to 2WO.

  Last time during my BMT, one of my section commanders was actually a corporal. He was a disruptee that got posted to BMTC as instructor. I remember he relax jack one, no tekan... Just do what you supposed to do and enjoy life.

  OCS rejects usually end up in BMTC School 1 as CPL then later one local promote to 3SG.

  OCC means they had injury so can't carry onto the combat vocation.
  
  Rejects means somehow during their training Mindef discovered something about them that they can't clear security, etc. So "reject".

  Depends on unit? How about vocations? What is the rank of S.C in Infantry and Commando?

  Typical is 3SG for Singapore. The rest are exceptions rather than the rule. If you are in some special battalion that was formed for 'testing', then you can see higher estabs for some appointments.
