M16s1 too crappy?

The m16s1 is pretty old and err.. not very reliable. what do you guys think?

that's because you've only seen and used the training weapons .... they are supposed to be crappy .... -
It is because ppl like you think it is crappy and anyhow ill-treat the weapons.
Anyway, before you call it crappy... ask yourself, have you done thinks properly to make it shoot well in the first place?
most "no loading" problem occurs because cartridges ain't loaded into the magazine properly.
not because the rifle is crappy. -
As long as the weapon can shoot, kill and do wat it suppose to do, it aint crappy

i find that i like the rifle i had in BMTC most. unlike other rifles that i keep zeroing and rezeroing and rerezeroing, the rifle i used in BMTC worked like a dream.
... or maybe its the zeroing machine's fault...
and yes, any weapon that can kill the enemy is a good one. if it jams too much, maybe its because the firer didnt clean it, or is using a faulty mag. -
During BMT,I remember our OC told us we are using a Highly reliable M-16 proven in Vietnam war...I immediately wanted to burst out laughing.....

Some of the BMTC rifles migth have seen action in Vietnam for all you know. -

Having used both M16S1 and SAR21 (went through conversion course, shooting, and had 3 ICTs of revision for SAR21)......
.... i STILL think M16S1 is much much better and user friendlier...maybe except for the slightly tedious zeroing...
For me, the SAR21 kept jamming on the bullets and digging out the rounds takes at LEAST 5 TIMES MORE time then M16S1 clearing the jam....
and I had many an occasion where its because of the jamming, the enemies run across me and "conquered" my area due to the sickening jam....
i mean, its almost like M16 (single or double feeding, etc) 2-3 seconds VS SAR21 (>1 minutes, ) -

you must have been refering to the earlier models of M16. yup.. the m16 was a "trial" weapon during vietnam.. but i guess later on in the war the rifle got better. -
Judging from the national day parade this year, the SAR21 is indeed crappy in parades, sibei gu niang, I hope they used back M16 for next year.

I loved my M-16S1 @ my unit. Never jammed on me... only the magazine had problem and gave me half-feed issues.
The M-16 suffered multiple failures in Vietnam cos it was a new weapon and the soldiers didn know how to take care of it. After they knew that their life depended on their maintenance effort, + a new less soiling cartridge, the jam rates reduced drastically. -

actually the sar 21 looks nice on its on without any add ons or modding
with exception to the laser sight since its built in ??
why destroy the compact look buy adding bayonet , m203 and what ever not
