well, when u are in the BX, the gloves protect u from heat and sharp edges when u handle the gun.
the light grey part is made of leather not rubber.

is ur face mask a standard issue item for ur voc? maybe due to the amount of dust event during ur training etc?

My SBO has nothing extra save for a ruggedised PDA pouch.

Well since I'm packing for my ICT, I might as well contribute to this thread.
Just an explanation ... I've integrated a fanny pack into my webbing as the a camelbak occupies the original pack. All in all I carry about 3.5 litres of water outfield ... 2.5 for myself and 1 for emergencies.
That pile of in the middle ... assorted plasters, pills and dressing ... What can I say ... I'm a medic!
The 3 items along the bottom ... strictly for non-tactical exercises. Missing from the piccie above would also be a book and reading light.
The whole lot packed up looks like this ...
... and weighs about 9kg w/o ammo ... if I attach my MOP onto the clip, the whole lot goes up to 14-15kg, hence the padding on the straps -

Pouches can only hold 4 M16 mag. No other compartment. This is exactly the same as those worn by US troops during Vietnam War.

There was no need for toggle rope in my unit. That was kept in the fullpack with the blessing of the CO. However, we needed to hang a lot of stuff , plus I had to pack a SIG Sauer pistol and holster. We removed one water bottle, that was hung from the full pack, again upon the CO 's instructions.
