HElo, I have done some research into Singapore Army Boots.
The old issue, some are from the brand Kings. They are quite good, made from soft leather. The new generation boots, are designed by Reebok and made in Singapore. I am talking about those Non-Goretex boots. Actually, if you are going out to Chiong Shua, the new generation full leather boots is better cause the leather is tougher and thicker and there is some cushion in the boots when compared with the old issue boots. Besides that, the grooves of the boots are also thicker, thereby making it more hard to wear. For the Gore-Tex boots, they are built with soft leather and Gore-Tex. Gore-tex is recommended to be worn in garrison or in "not-Chiong-Shua" activities as it is more comfortable to wear and breathable due to Gore-TEx material. IT is not advisable to wear when you go out field becasue if the mud clogs up the Gore-tex, it is not much diffrence from the normal Leather boots as the boots can't "Breath".
If you guys have any more information, do fill me in. Thanks!
