Remember during my NS days, while on one of our training, our Staff's land rover broke down, so the platoon carried on without him. When we finish our objective and went back to look for him, his vehicle's bonnet is all covered with rambutan. Apparently, he waited for us under this rambutan tree at a deserted kampong, so he spend time picking fruits. We had a rambutan feast.

Basically, that time, we had an unofficial map on where to find good rambutan, durain, soursop, pineapple, papaya etc throughout Singapore. Partly because some of our platoon members were ex residents of Lim chu kang, Hong Kar, Ulu Sembawang areas etc. Still remember Ulu Sembawang has 2 very good papaya trees. Orange colour flesh and super sweet.

More than 10 years liao lor and lots of the areas are now HDB flats or no longer accessable. Missed those trees. Hahahaha
