any GUYS, ENCIK, OCCIFER, SARGENT, SKIRTY GUARD frm
there can tell me what to expect? TOLONG MAN
is there any difference in training in the various camps all over
mainland and tekong?

(1) anybody frm 3 SIR Selarang Camp care to tell me what to expect from training over there coz i am heading there soon.
(2) is the ns training different in the various camps all over mainland and tekong? coz i know not all ns newbies go tekong one.
(3) (referring to selarang camp) is it a normal infantry training or a commando training camp over there becoz i got heard theres a commando camp in changi but i dont know if it is selarang camp. so can u help me ease my fears.

commando camp is HENDON Camp.
Being in the same place doesn't mean same. Then Jurong Camp and Pasir Laba Camp is it the same? What abt OCS? Duh..
You're just going into mono intake. Which means you'll be a man..u wun be a commander. thats the only difference between going to tekon and going into mono intake at the units.
Don't need to be scared. NS is easy..haha..i just ord-ed. -

1) 3 SIR is touted to be the SAF's first fully Urban-Ops capable unit. Hence, eventually, I expect you get to use all the gucci equipment and you might be adoing a fair bit of FIBUA. --> see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4yU2OgjmyDU for 3SIR in action.
2) If you mean BMT then I am quite certain there is a common syllabus that must be taught to recruits. Hence, your trg will likely to be largely the same as those in Tekong. Meaning you will do PT, SOC, route march, marksmanship training, grenade, etc. I think they may have national education trg now.
3) 3SIR is an infantry unit. see 1 above. -

You already said it "wayang". I think some of the concepts might work though and the paintball thing imo is a move in the right direction! TBH, I would much rather see the teams get thrown into an unfamiliar environment and see how they work. Those soldiers are obviously too familiar with the layout of the rooms already!
And when you are moving, wth are you trying to look like you are looking through the scope? I can understand holding the weapons at the shoulder but using the scopeis taking the piss. -

After POP, you may continue to stay at 3SIR either in rifle coy or support coy. You may also have chance to post out to other units (Usually post out to drivers) -
Regardless of what Unit.what vocations,what ranks,once u r an NSF,the golden rule to survive is to keep a low profile in army,open your eyes big and wide,anything heard whether it should be heard or should not be heard just keep quiet.

i mean nowadays we cant be so ignorant wad, we more clever our enemy also become more clever, oso wad. so definitely they will like try to find our weakness leh (referring to the 3G robocop soldiers). so scenario la, lets say they dunno unleash sum electronic jamming wave or emp signal, then all the 3G weapons and equipment all go bo liao, definitely gonna catch us with our pants down man. i dunno la, this is wad i think la. coz this world now is modern warfare leh, modern army versus modern army, not some buggers with muskets in a square formation
or maybe there is already counter measures already thought of by the top brass or something which i dunnoe of. whats your opinion? anyone from 3 SIR here i reli dun mean to offend u guys la, pls correct me if im wrong man -
