if you posted to armor then you will be armor trainOriginally posted by pandemonium:how is the whole processing done? wat i mean is, im in ocs now, so got to finish my whole occ and/or my unit tour before putting in my request to be sent to guards?
And, are there any other vocations (besides guards) that signal offrs can be trained in? i guess most likely armour is out rite?
thanks guys
this is the normal posting right? wat my friend meant was smtg like guards conversion courseOriginally posted by Faramir:if you posted to armor then you will be armor train
that might take too long considering BMT+OCS alone takes 1 year. going for GCC also takes time.Originally posted by pandemonium:this is the normal posting right? wat my friend meant was smtg like guards conversion course
thanks.. isit a auto thing that most sig offr posted to armour become armour-trained, or do they have to apply for it after getting posted to armour? These sig offr have to pass the armour selection test too (the psychomotor one)?Originally posted by sir sickolot II:ok...speaking from a sig spec point of view
know offrs and specs who have went for GCC and earned the Guards tab because of their posting to Guards Bn.
However, with the 2 yr NS thing, Gordonator has a point. I think there may not be this option anymore...or see your luck if there is a GCC one can attend.
So if u're not Guards trained ( but posted to a Gds Unit), u will wear the Blue beret with the 7SIB backing.
same with armour... except most sig offr do become armour trained... and wear the black beret upon successful completion of their cross trg.
Hope that helps.

Hold on... Once u're posted into an armor unit, whether as signaller, signal officer , u will wear the black beret regardless of whether u are "armor trained."Originally posted by pandemonium:thanks.. isit a auto thing that most sig offr posted to armour become armour-trained, or do they have to apply for it after getting posted to armour? Am really interested in going to armour, but am posted to signals instd, so am trying to see if there's any other option
GCC 1 month.Originally posted by Gordonator:that might take too long considering BMT+OCS alone takes 1 year. going for GCC also takes time.

Khaki.Originally posted by saline:well, i was wondering, after the signals officer goes tru GOCC and he get the GUARDS tab, does he wear the Kaki beret as well or does he continue to wear the Blue beret?
What i noe is that if ure posted to Signals as a Man, then it's slack. If u're posted for specialist or officer course, it's equallly xiong - both physically (but of course not as xiong as inf) and mentally. Route march is 72km, SBO, rifle and the 840 signal set (dont think there's field pack tho).Originally posted by tyco_mun:Anyone can tell me about Signals Specialist course? I've been posted there from BSLC. Don't know ANYTHING about signals. Mostly pple saying very slack. Others say its the same road marches + SOC WITH signal set. Can someone enlighten me? I wish to know how much praying i need to do......
The 72km only for officer cadets....men slack during course but after dat depends on where u' posted to....Originally posted by pandemonium:What i noe is that if ure posted to Signals as a Man, then it's slack.
