Officer Pay and Avg. Promotion Rate

  Just alittle curious here, can someone share the salary range of a combat officer from 2LT. to COL. get per month inclusive of additional benefits and whats the average time it takes to be promoted to the next rank?

  Civil servants, get civil servants pay, with civil servants bonus. Last I heard, MINDEF capped annual increments at $70. I maybe wrong, so don't take my word for it.

  Cuz when you see MINDEF's website, what they get is roughly market rate. But I don't understand why is it that so many of them can afford cars, and not just cars but rather flashy cars too like Integras etc.

  No lahz...siaoz.I'm just really curious lor. Because I've heard of things from friends that if you sign on as a career, by the end of it, you will be guranteed a big house and nice car. So there you have it.

  Owning a car is no longer a status thing in singapore anymore. Integra, if you can pay the monthly loan, by all means, kah motors is $1 downpayment.

  My history teacher wasn't a HOD or subject head, but he commands a pay of 4kplus.
  
  Drives an alpha romeo and stays in a masionette.
  
  Basically, civil servants will command a higher pay and perks but only applies to those in the "top".

  Seeing as the vast majority will be let loose into the big bad world after 20 years or less with little or no relevent experience, surely the pay isn't too high.
  
  I think some of them are advancing too quickly though. Just saw a video on the SAF and the OCs and COs look like they just graduated yesterday.

  i hear in my old unit even alot of wild stories about cash for sex btw senior or at least the very top guy camp commander la with uni girls who can't afford to go to school
