It seemed in unit like SISPEC n OCS, there will also be servicemen unable to take the pressure n ended up breakdown.Originally posted by storywolf:Don't worry a few day stay in mental hospital will be fine, he be back as new, and cannot even remember a thing of the stupid thing he did.
Seen a lot of cases like that before in my OCS days. Usually after very long extended exercise out in the field Got a few of friends that so mentally and physically drainned, that they really thought they are fighting a real war.
When send to hospital for treatment that time, they even thought they been capture by enemy and help to be place under guard to prevent them from escaping.
kind of funny - one of them even in the ambulance image that the medic take out a big scisorss to cut his little brother !!!

If we fight war, how?
For those who really got mental illness, then cannot be help. But for those who chao geng, then it just shows how much of a man they really are. I have a friend who excels in his studies. Come to NS give all sorts of excuses such as he is allergic to the camp's bed, and request stay-out. Later become a storeman, then still purposely go and injured himself, just so that he can go to NUH for physiotherapy and not go back camp.
Pui. He still has the guts to come and tell me and another friend about all these, and seems so proud of himself. Of course, his girlfriend is in the dark about all these. Since then, me and my friend seldom contact him liao.
Its simple really. Everyone is going through the same thing. Hell, i entertain suicidal thoughts before during BMT. But what's the point of doing everything you can to have an easier time in NS? Why not channel all your energies thinking about how to keng into serving it? Maybe SAF will be even better off this way.
fu-cker should be charged also...Originally posted by fudgester:In my POV, what the instructor did was absolutely wrong - you should never, ever take a suicide threat lightly, and worse still, challenge him to do it. It could have gone terribly wrong, leading to the REC slashing himself.
Reverse psychology does not necessarily apply to all situations.![]()

He will bring in his dirty laundry to camp and never washed it. His section will always kena during standby area. All because of him. Locker full of junk like newspapers, rags..etc
After bmt, I found out that he beat up his brother, tie his mum up and urinated on her. Was on the papers too... or so claimed by my friend.
But I am not surprised.. he has a mental disorder I guess..
