  Actually the first in line, SOF, CDO etc, are statistically safer than the next in line - SIRs, GDS and SARs. Because of the nature of their mission - they are not supposed to engage in large scale, prolonged combat with the enemy.
  
  Compare with the infantry soldiers. They are expected to engage in firefights which means the death troll will be higher. Plus they can die under any set of circumstances - chopper crash, sniper headshot, naplam fire, artillery shelling, RPG attacks, claymore mines etc.

  i think it will be the BEACHING group.... its used to be carry out by guards... but nows day i think they share share with the Navy... those are the advance party that will LAND on enermy territory, and i think they will be the 1st to to have face to face contact with the enermy
