yaya.. i noe i'm nt supposed to bitch anything about the saf because it's illegal or whatever shit but i don't care.. I'm just too pissed..
today i went to seletar camp (in no. 4 riding an saf vehicle no less) and forgot my 11B. To my surprise and horror, the guard house don't want to accept any other form of identification that i have on me. I had my camp pass, saf ezlink card and saf driving license and they don't accept any of this. In the end i was refused entry as i can't change a visitor pass.
I mean what sort of system is this. If some guy forgets his 11B and his no civilian driving license, that means he can't have access to other camps even on official business? wtf logic is this esp since got so many other forms of identification i had with me -

Well maybe u can talk to their superior maybe he/she can helped you. I was from seletar camp. The guard used to be not so particular as long as it's an ID with photo. so u drive a military vehicle? do you know driving without 11B is an offense?
anyway, its like that one laa.. but normally this kind of camps must be naval or air base... -

Hmmm the system is there,it just that the people are not flexible.
But frankly speaking,nothing will go wrong if u have brought your 11B with u.
And last time when i am doing guard duty,my camp also don't allow to let serviceman book in with camp pass,driving license it only 11B,as for clivlian,only NRIC is allow ,company pass etc also not allow too,not to mention saf ezlink card. -
What I used to do with those who booked in with their camp pass, is just call up their camp and verify their identity.

got one occasion i went to sungei gedong camp to do something but i left my 11b in camp. however the duty RP is flexable enough to let me enter by camp pass

Don't blame the system; blame the guard comd.
So long as you have some formal kind of identification like your SAF driving licence, then the guard comd should have let you in. At most he should have just given you a stern reminder about the need to have your 11B when you're on the road in a military vehicle.
Just take this as a lesson learnt, and do remember to bring your 11B along next time to avoid such misunderstandings from happening again. -

If you can send in a formal complain (not anonymous) to Seletar CCO, I'll have the duty personnels take 7 each. And I will also notify your Boss to have you take 14 for not carrying your 11B. How's this deal ?

whenever i goes back to my camp(after ord ) i will take my 11b and change pass. i dun want to give my pink ic to to them

eh ya actually i am an SAF driver.. but the scenerio i gave above was smplified cos the actual thing was i brought 6 people there including myself. I had 11B of cos but 3 out of the 6 people didn't have. Every form of identification was rejected. N its not by the guard com, its by the RPs..

True is true la but sometimes its hard and troublesome to carry your 11B around the whole time because there is the tendency to lose or misplace it during training and somemore its worse if you have to change to diff attires in a day. I know cos i lost my 11B once in camp. don't blame the RPs they are just doing their job. if their CSM/RSM finds out they let people in without proper documents, they are going to sign extras, not u.
anyway Seletar RPs are one of the most on-balls RPs in the SAF. their guardhouse CSM (a MSG, don't know still there or not) is also very on the ball.
just to brief u all on the documents allowed for changing of pass. they are;
[*] 11B for soldiers
[*] Pink/Blue IC for civilians
[*] Driving license
[*] Valid non-expired work permit for foreign workers
[*] 15A aka temporary 11B issued by the unit if u have misplace your 11B.
if u have none of the documents above for whatever reasons, u may use your non-expired passport to change for a pass.
if u lost your 11B, it is advisable u make a police report asap and keep the police report with u where ever u go.
alternately u can call up the contact person inside the unit and tell him to speak with the RPs or their superiors to grant u entry.
depending on camps, some camps don't allow using camp passes to exchange for visitor pass.
