Questions about IPPT

1. Can one claim from Mindef if i go take IPPT?
2. Does a full-time student need to take IPPT?
3. Can one claim from the company should he be charged for AWOL from IPPT?

1) No. Ass Air F only pay you service pay. It'll be around S$7 plus. Cheapskate rite?
2) No need at all. If they ask you take IPPT, fark them.
3) Charged for AWOL ( IPPT ), can't claim from your company. However, your manager or boss or director should give you time off to go to any camp to 'take order' during your absent in the company. Should you get any DB, do note tat your comapny got the very rite to deduct your month salary from you.

Yes, i believe last time no need to take IPPT for full-time student. Then they ask me to go answer charge for AWOL from IPPT some time last year. Luckily the LTA let me go without punishment. However, when i tried to book a date for IPPT online, a few days later a clerk from ATC called up and told me that i need not take IPPT as i was a full time student!!!
Now they want to charge me again because i didn't take during my lastest IPPT window. This window happens to be when i am still in school for at least 8 mths out of the 12 mths. I only started working recently after i graduate in june this year. So do i have a case to defend myself guys?
This is so frustrating because i need to take no pay leave to go for this charge. -
Ok, l hope I can help to clear up the issue..
Full time students MUST take IPPT no matter what. I went for NSmen briefing shortly after I ORD'ed last year, and we were told that its a must to take IPPT. If you study in SMU, NUS, NTU, or any of the 5 polys after you ORD, you need not take RT even if u fail IPPT due to the Higher Learning scheme, for the duration of your course in these institutes. For those like me who study in private schools like MDIS, SIM etc, you must take RT if you fail IPPT. -

Is there by any chance that what is mentioned above is a newer system and that the previous system allow NSmen who are full-time students to be exempted from taking IPPT? Any lao jiaos care to shed some light? I need to know this ASAP because i need to go tomorrow! Thanks -
Ignorance is no defence.
But since you are going to be charged, you might as well ask them to show you all the documents, including those that say full-time students are not exempted, so you are satisfied when you pay your fine.
I also had a case that I could not book my IPPT through www.ns.sg. I called and was told to book in the next window. I insisted to take my IPPT since I had already prepared myself and we found that it was a system error that prevented my booking.
In the end, I got $200 + 1/2 day pay, instead of getting charged for failing to take IPPT and going for 2 months RT. What a relief !! -
I am back....luckily i am not charged!
Yes, there have been lots of hiccups with the website and the system especially with NSFs doing most of the admin work.
My unit Chief Clerk just taken over from 2 NSFs who have been dealing with my units matters and she acknowledged that things can be done better.
Now that a capable Chief Clerk and staff in place, things will look set to be more efficient and our NS time more pleasant. -

Thats what my friend said too. However, will they have a trial run or at least a briefing on the route before the test? I have never been to Maju before so have no idea of the layout. The onus of taking IPPT now lies with the NSman. You have one year to sort out all your problems and take your IPPT. Whether you pass or not is not relevant. But not turning up for an attempt constitute AWOL. -

anyway maju camp have both upslopes and downslopes for 2.4km.
