Any info on the Secret Services of the SAF?
I know there is one unit called the JID, Joint Intelligence Department. Any idea how they select people to go into them? -
through interviews of course.

They select orphans and people with no family ties to anyone.
Train them in the navy to the rank of Commander (or CPT rank in RSN).
Then intro him to Q and M and Moneypenny (or singapore equivalent MoneyCents).
He gets to drive BMWs and Aston Martins. -

Commander in the navy is equivalent to Lt.Colonel in the army.

It is not Joint Intelligence Department but Joint Intelligence Directorate. Its role is to conduct intelligence operations in the battlefield.. -

AS the name suggests, its handles intelligence acquired from all 3 branches of service for processing. Sort of like a central point kinda thing.
As for how to join the intelligence "formation," u can always speak to the recruitment officers at ARC. They'll help you along. -

From wad I know, they only recruit officers. It seems that they have the same pay scale too. nothing fancy, only that you are working in a SPY agency. JIC is a military spy agency, wad about Civilian spy agency? do they work with them?
