NSmen, aka reservists personnel...
have u ever worked with them? eg. like they attached to the unit for exercise or training... or
or trained them...? like maybe conduct some refresher course for them...
or was under them...? eg. an NSmen officer come n tekan u as trainees
how do u find them? eg. r they very slack or wat? or they like to share stories bout their NS days...
they will definately most likely share with you...... stories of stoopid soldiers... with starting sentence like, "u noe, u reminded me of this soldier whose dumb actions similar like urs......... blah blah...."
I was in a NSmen reservist unit during my NS days. My job was a radio operator, and have to teach the NSmen radio comms how to operate the system whenever we have sailing during their ICTs.
Some are really nice, in the sense that they are willing to learn. Some, especially those older ones, and serve as regulars previously, will tend to take things easy, and act blur(i.e, pretend don't know how 2 operate system, and not take shift work seriously, sleeping when suppose to man comms).. They will try to pull rank, but thankfully, my Comms Officer will often ask me to report to him if anyone try to pull rank, and he will "screw" them upside down.
But almost all of them will tell me the "Good old days of the Navy", how we are oh-so-lucky now that its more slack than previously. They will tell u what they do during sailing, and what they do when they go on-shore. They will also tell me about their families and work. Its interesting to learn more about these people.
I guess I can't really blame some NSmen for having the slack attitude. After all, reservist is only two weeks, and for some, its a chore considering they have to leave their families and jobs behind. Hopefully, I will not turn out the same way as them, when I go for my ICT in probably 2 years time.
