You do know that it's technically illegal to moonlight while you're in the SAF, regardless of whether you're a regular or an NSF.

yes its illegal but do u know that many of the regulars still moolight. and their performance are affected. sign

There is this guy who talks to me about MLM when I went back to camp. Of course, he said he was helping one of his family members.

the performance of these regulars are not up to standard and yet they are pushing their responsibility to the others. They know that they will still get paid at the 10th of every month and hence moonlight to earn extra income. maybe its the way their contract works but i think that there is room for improvement.

To me, I feel that there's nothing wrong with wanting to earn more, provided it should not affect your main job.

i was still in the forces and i work as commercial diver (part time or project)
pay was rather good (during that time)
ofcoz, all this have to do UNDER TABLE! AS U WILL GET CHARGE IF U GET CAUGHT! never take up any job that need to top up CPF! you SURE DIE! -
so far alot ppl in saf i know do moonlight .. n we all know it is illegal .. but i hav yet to see any1 sentence to db

they moonlight because they are realistic about their career. that it is not worth getting the PP2 and it's better to focus on a real job outside while still getting pocket money.

i have this friend who is a regular. like most regulars, he regretted signing on and is now moonlighting as a freelance salesman selling some stupid drinks.
the annoying thing is that he keep pestering all his friends including me to join him and "become a boss". so funny. -
well i guess alot of these regulars are stack with financial burdens.. so they need the extra income. money not enough. singapore life style....

I know of some regulars who are TOTALLY lazy and off-the-ball; always hands his work to the rest, seldoms fullfill his promises, talks of great things but no action comes out of it; and he's now married to another b!tchy regular who has the same characteristics as the former, plus back-stabbing and like to complain to higher people for the smallest of problems.
But of course there are those who are totally commited and tries his best to be team-players and puts his juniors'/others' interests in front of his own. These are people who truly deserves out respect.
There's always 2-side of the coins I guess..When there's white, there's always black.. When there's flowers and good people, there's the sh1t and the a55holes.

looks more to me they spent money like money like water and fails to save up for rainy days. -
after signing on the dotted line, an Army guy next looks for a car. Only $2K+, where enough for monthly instalment, taxes and petrol. Then with a car, got to get a girlfriend. Compensates girlfriend with gifts because got to spend time to do duty. So moonlight to impress girlfriend that he is a big time businessman. how does that sound ?
of course there are law-abiding soldiers who does not fall into this category. -
