agree.. jus dont look up when u climb the last 100m of biang..Originally posted by fudgester:Mud and rain are a facet of life there. If you do enter the jungle and emerge from it dry at the end of the day, be sure to buy 4D. Guaranteed to strike.
The legendary Seven Knolls are not seven knolls at all. They're more like seven big knolls with many smaller knolls in between. So don't bother counting. The final knoll is the worst knoll you'll ever experience, by the way.
Much of the way, medical evacuation is only possible via helievac. So do your best not to get injured, cos they're not going to indent a chopper for lesser injuries. I remember having to scale those blardy knolls with a 39 degree fever. I couldn't fall out cos it was dead in the middle of the night and if I fell out, there would be just one platoon medic left to take care of the whole company. So the only way to fall out is by moving forward to finish the mission.
For Mount Biang, going up is actually easier than going down. And the trail is undulating - while ascending the hill, you will be cursing and swearing at points when the trail is leading downwards.
You will not come across any 'ninja vans' along the way while doing topo. So leave your money in camp. You don't want your money to get wet, anyway.
Thats what I thought tooOriginally posted by mr_sotong:biang where got leeches 1? i tot leeches lives in the river..

if u really need to do swamp walk, try to bash your way out within a day. if not, better pray it won't rain at night. the feeling sux, really....
imagine spending your night in the swamp where sleeping means sitting on some roots above the mud. and suddenly thunder roars and rain pours down. you take out your poncho and cover over your head while watching the water in the swamp rise higher and higher...
