Jungle boots are quick dry boots with 2 drainage plugs at the arch of your footsole area. It allows water to get in and out quickly. As you walk, the water is pumped out of the boots, so you don't feel you are carrying extra weight in them.Originally posted by pandemonium:wats a jungle boot? I've only goretex and leather parade boots
But these dont' seem to be available in SAF rite? coz from what i saw, there are only goretex, leather and safety boots availableOriginally posted by KoolKool:Jungle boots are quick dry boots with 2 drainage plugs at the arch of your footsole area. I find it funny when SAF introduced waterproof boots. I think the people sitting in MINDEF wants this because they sit in the aircon room, and don't need to go to the field.
When you do river crossing, water will get into your boots no matter how waterproof it is. The next thing you really want is to have the 2 drainage vents to get the water out quickly.
Don't worry bout the weatherOriginally posted by pandemonium:Not sure if we'll be doing swamp walk, but there's 3 river-crossings in total. And the weather is always thunderstorm/ raining nowadays, so am q worried abt foot hygiene / foot rot. yeeks

Coz my bunk is the one nearest to this shrine...my CSM told me it is better not to go topless at night if you wanna go toilet...in order not to offend someone...(the toilet is about 20m away and you will have to walk in the open to go to the toilet and in the process, you can see the shrine...or is it whatever is inside the shrine can see you...)
