  You are supposed to find shelter and call for CAT1 when it starts to thunder.
  
  Rain only can ask the next person to carry the umbrella for you.
  Poncho and Umbrella is for Guniangs , make sure the person is Guniang enuf to do it.

  We always used umbrellas to walk to the next camp for lunch. Don't think anyone will bother a large group of specs and officers I believe.

  There are some directives about umbrella usage. Some say can. Some say cannot. I dunno which is which.
  
  There are cases when someone was booking in during rainy days, he was booked by a sergeant major.
  
  But for me, I have personally used it in front of my DSM, and nothing ever happened.
  
  Also another thing to note, during a COC of our div comd, it was raining, and I was instructed to help some big shots guest to the waiting hall with an umbrella from their car.

  Wah, no one in sane mind will not use umbrella. Unless you are in parade & it started raining then lan lan no choice. Otherwise, no one is cork until go cookhouse oso put on poncho, go cookhouse, take off poncho ...wah lan....simply open the umbrella.
  
  that time i field camp oso see my PC use umbrella at night walk around....its only drizzling.
  
  and of course, if blazing sun use umbrella then i think its gu niang, unless u tell me u excuse light haha....

  There really isn't a rule against using of umbrellas when in uniform while under administrative duties. I think the "ban" is more applicable for recruits.

  would SAF want healthy men who use the umbrella or sickly soldiers who are too macho to use an umbrella.
