  if you have seen the latest issue of Pioneer magazine, there are Malay in the RSAF also. A CPT pilot somemore.

  The arrangement was that his mom has very high security clearance in Civil service.

  There are three Malay Muslim pilots in the RSAF.
  
  Major Zakir (KC pilot) currently on peace Carvin detachment
  CPT Yusri (another KC Pilot)
  Lta Khairul (a trainee pilot) dunno which aircraft he flies
  
  There are also around 6 Malay Officers/NCOs in the RSN
  
  4 LTA-CPTs (2 of them aboard Transportation vessels as Nav Officers)
  (2 of them at Logistics departments)
  
  Across the Tri Service,
  
  there are currently 2 full Malay Colonels (Army)
  
  1 of them is Col Ishak (widely tipped to be the next Chief of Infantry)
  another 1 is a Col Faris (abit shady on this one...last i heard was working at MINDEF)
  
  There's quite a few Malay LTCs though (Army)
  
  2 Infantry LTCs
  2 Logistics LTCs
  1 Guards LTC
  No CDO LTC though or Malay personnel
  1 Malay in SWG
  1 Malay in CRF

  hmm... i have 2 malay frens in air force as pilot trainees as well.
  1 is a 3 white bar OCT
  the other 1 is a LTA
  seems like air force is finally opening up?

  If COL Ishak becomes the next Chief Infantry Officer then he shall be the 1st Malay BGs in the SAF since he's going to hold 9 div commander as well.
  
  By the way do you think that it's time for some army formations like armour, signals etc to open up to Muslims?

  last time i was from armour and yes currently there is no malay in the formation and keat hong camp and sungei gedong camp have no muslim food served on their cookhouses.
  
  as for me, i am from kranji camp last time so the cookhouses there still got muslim foods serving since SAFPU (now SAF MP command) and 21SA (very little Malays) have muslims.

  I believe its more of few Malays who sign on as officers and the very few who attain SAFOS/PSC scholarships will be the ones who will reach DivComd or SSSO level. So give it time, I believe that we will see more..
  
  SWG has a Malay officer, so what's the fuss about? Let's not get too sensitive.
