I saw a convoy of armored vehs moving at very fast speed. I thought during peace time ops, all SAF vehs must follow speed limit of 50kph? And how come they are allowed to travel on expressway?
I remember during the 40SAR convoy to TVMA from the old Keat Kong Camp, we are not allow to travel on the long stretch of Lim Chu Kang Road beside the cemetery, instead on the old road where former 2 Guards camp. -
Well, tracked vehicles will not do any major damage to the road surface but in the event when they have to negotate a turn, that's when the tar on the road surface will start to "pop" out due to the differential turn of the tracks.

When I was in the SAF never in my entire time have we used the Expressway(out of bound) no matter what but let me share with you one funny incident where a whole convoy of troops (with live ammunition)on standby made a wrong turn and ended up using the causeway....almost caused an International incident with Malaysia.
