STooky really seems to be like a child asking an adult why this and why that,but sometimes i really wonder whether is he working for the mindef,to obtain information on how do pp keng,etc,etc

Last time i got recruit when enlisted he carried Samsonite luggage to Tekong with parents.
Then CO saw and ask why bring so much.
Parent replied, they just came from Hong Kong this morning to enlist the son, then they ask CO if he can stay in because they got no house in Singapore.
CO agreed but soon after arranged for another recruit to bring him home on weekends. -

there was a School Sergeant Major, a MWO in my unit who stays in everyday as well. in fact i heard form people he even got the post office to deliver all his letters to camp.

Actually i am very curious about all these regulars who opt to stay-in on weekends. Meaning they might book out on friday/saturday nights to meet up with friends etc and relax, but book in back to camp.
Reason is this. Technically speaking, the SAF pays for all electricity/water bills, even food is indented for all personnel. Duty personnel like guards, ops room staff etc also have their food indented, which explains why the is the chip/scan card process to make sure "nothing is wasted".
So all these regulars who opt to stay-in, what official business or permission do they have? They use water, electricity, pretty sure some also consume food on weekends. All these, i'm sure, is not indented for by SAF. Yah i know, how much electricity/water can they spend....afterall SAF so damn big, what's that few dollars right?
But my point is this - money is still money. Many soldiers have signed1206 when they don't eat their food, or scanned but don't eat. So if SAF want to have double-standard, don't you think those who willingly "bunk-in" on weekends should pay for all meals/bills?
