Possible New training camps

Singapore should seriousely think and plan for alternative training areas if Thailand ask us to leave. Taiwan is not a good long term training area because of "our good relationship with China".
India has been chosen to be the possible Taiwan switch. As for Thailand case, where do you think is a good place?
I suggest East Timor? With Jungle and similar terrain, throw in some real exercise too. -
How about Hell? That place would toughen up most new people and indoctrinate a sense of military dicipline into vetran reservists or they would break down into stark raving mad people.

i think the india one can replace thailand bases while the taiwan bases should stay at least for now

China is not practical. Too many political and military issues to iron out.
Getting cosy with China will make our Western partners more cautious in dealing with us for fear that we might leak information to the Chinese.
China does not have open access to as many US and European defense technologies as we do. If we start training in China, the most we can bring over are Infantry and small arms. Larger more technologically advanced pieces of equipment like tanks and attack helicopters are governed by technology transfer agreements etc... If we send these to China, the US and Europe will stop transfering technology to us as by bringing advanced stuff to China, the Chinese will have gained a means of getting specific intel on sensitive weapons. -

Since we're getting Leopard tanks from the Germans, how about going to Germany?
As for Asia, why not approach South Korea? Since the US is trimming forces from parts of this region, there might be surplus basing facilities to spare? Japan could be an option but going there might be irritate the politically sensitive mainland Chinese. -
we have been training in ROC for over the past 30 yrs. dun tink they will change. at least, not in the near future bah.

Who knows, might get to practice fire and movement with live arounds against whatever nonsense rebel groups they have there. -
