can someone tell me what exactly do guards do??
ie their training and stuff.. -
Just wondering how come nobody say things like,How is the training down in 1st SIR? Or how do I get to be a lobo Armskoteman or something like that!

i mean the life of a guard and the training.
not some rough description by mindef..

guards usually do sentry duty on 2 hours rest 2 hour work basis. they may also need to do prowling depending on uints. the guardcom will brief u all on guard duties procedures and simple laws of engagements etc.Originally posted by OO_OO_OO:can someone tell me what exactly do guards do??

everynight there will be staff parade whereby the duty officer (DO) will come down to the guardhouse to count strength, account for the arms and ammo and brief the guards on outstanding issues to take note. garang DOs might also give 1 or more turnouts (usually at wee hours of the night) to test the response of the guards. -

This guy is not asking about wanting to do guard duty...otherwise he would have asked for CISCO.
Infantry walk a lot......Guards walk a lot and get to fly in helicopters....Commandos walk a lot,get to fly in helicopters and jump out of Airplanes.So beter just stay at home and ZZZZZZZZleep! -
THat's why being a civilian is so much better, you get to walk when you wish, usually around shopping malls.

Eh wait, all SOF are commandos anyway.
OK OK, i know some of you already going to say not all SOF need to be commandos to sign up.
True. Members of SOF can come from anywhere in SAF. Infantry, guards, medics, etc etc. However, once trainees successfully complete the SOF course, they automatically become commandos and join the commando family.
Btw, i am not a commando or SOF.
What's my point.... i also don't know my point...
