i worked with scdf provost b4 . they wore blue uniform n hav a larnyard jus like us . Police do go db but they go scdf db .Originally posted by Pitot:SCDF DB is their own one.
SPF did not have a DB until recently they decided to send their AWOLs to share the DB together with SCDF detainees.
SPF dosent have MP. I think their own internal investigation and CPIB takes care of that aspect.
Hi , u jus recently orded? LOL ur fren seemed to be like my fren too , cos booking recruits is easy , n every10 guys they catch they get 1 day off. i heard him saying go catch 2hrs can 1 day off , easy deal loOriginally posted by hemoid:Ex MP here.

any MP can arrest any SAF personal if he has the grounds to arrest him.
EG An officer was spotted behaving drunkenly in public and disturbing people in NO4.Any MP for example a private can go up to him and inform him he is an MP and he can be booked for causing hurt to the SAF's reputation.
MPS on enforcement duty will be issued with warrant cards. These are like the police warrant cards and they will flash them before they book you/arrest you.If the warrant card come out means you're really in deep shit. But no warrant card dosen't mean anything. He can still book/arrest.
If he is really causing a disturbance and refuses to stop the MP can call in a van from Zone Provost to arrest the fellow and bring him back to Mowbray Station.
MPs can do this in plain clothes or on the job. They are allowed to do this as long as they have the vocation of MP.Its just a matter if you are garang enough and daring enough.(are you confident and daring enough to walk up to a general and tell him to put out his ciggarette?or go up alone to a bunch of drunk guys and tell them to stop disturbing people? If you dare then you are justified in doing it.)
I have a friend who used to go tekong catch recruits smoking at white sands on his off days.Xiao on guy haha.
Up till today I have never heard of people going undercover to investigate if recruits are being illtreated.Maybe this is done by MSD or maybe NSFs don't do this because if NSF do confirm every NSF MP will know.(bragging to friends..i am undercover..i am wo di..blah blah)
Yes SB(Security Branch) does surf the net and look for people talking about classified stuff. So the next time you decide to post new pics of the new secret plane that Singapore is buying from the US..dun put ur name!
If you feel you are being illtreated(eg CSM use pace stick and whack you)and that you want to complain..call SAF hotline. It really works and is more effective then calling Mowbray station.Trust me.
But if u want to pao toh your spec/officers cuz they taking drugs or extorting money from the men and u dun like them call Mowbray station.I think the number is in all the handbooks they give out at BMT nowadays.
Finally SIB means Special Investigation Branch and yes its like CID they go courses and learn things cool CSI things like fingerprinting and how to use lie detectors.

maybe. ranks are supposed to be respected. but not the person bearing it.Originally posted by LetterboxMind:Is it TRUE that when a Military Policeman arrests an Officer, he will/must request that the Officer remove his epaulette?
I heard a case once. During NDP last time at national stadium, a lot of soldiers like to smoke at the toilets, even officers.
There was a garang MP who knew, went in and booked everyone, including the officers. He then requested that the officers remove their epaulettes and pass to him (presumably so that they won't lose face).

I think if u think it is useless, better ask the serviceman's father or mother to report to SAFMP more useful. They usually treated complaint from father orOriginally posted by monoslayer:the hotline is useless. i m not kidding. trust me.

You are or you were not from SB so how would you know what they do in actual fact?

Cannot be. Commissioned is given by the President, so cannot suka suka ask to take out. If the Officer follow the MPs orders to take out, he don't deserve to be an officer.Originally posted by LetterboxMind:Is it TRUE that when a Military Policeman arrests an Officer, he will/must request that the Officer remove his epaulette?

But then again...if the MP wanna book/arrest an officer, the officer can simply pull rank. Say he's a 2LT, he can simply tell the MP (lets say a 3SG)," Sergeant, what is your rank and name? You see officer you don't respect and you want to arrest me? What sort of unit does Provost think they are?" Then how you tell me? Or are you saying the MP must have an MP Officer present with him?Originally posted by KoolKool:Cannot be. Commissioned is given by the President, so cannot suka suka ask to take out. SAF Act allows MP WOSE to arrest a Commissioned Officer.Originally posted by SpecOps87:But then again...if the MP wanna book/arrest an officer, the officer can simply pull rank. becos his rank cpt... tats y scott free... if a pte soldier were to forget the loa...Originally posted by Ponders:SAF Act allows MP WOSE to arrest a Commissioned Officer.
SAF Act also allow a lower ranking WOSE to arrest a WOSE of a higher rank provided he has grounds that the higher ranking WOSE is in breach of any current regulations.
When I was in the same rover with my OC (who is also the driver), we got a road check by a CPL MP near Jalan Asrama.
CPL MP: (Sedia with stomping on the ground and salutes) Good Afternoon Sir, We are conducting a traffic enforcment ops, I need to see your 11B and LOA.
OC: (Salutes back and searches his wallet for LOA) I got 11B and Camp pass but i did not bring my LOA which is in Camp.
Then the CPL MP calls Kaki Bukit Camp to verify if the said NRIC (my OC) is issued an LOA and the reply was positive.
CPL MP: Sorry sir, without LOA on you, you are not allowed to operate a military vehicle.
My OC then took out handphone and call the rover that left few minutes earlier to return since there's another LOA'ed driver in that vehicle.
CPL MP returns the 11B and camp pass, sedias himself with stomping onto the groud and salutes, thanking my OC for his cooperation.
Not really lah, he is booked and given warning.Originally posted by mhcampboy:becos his rank cpt... tats y scott free... if a pte soldier were to forget the loa...
